2026.02.25 – An Individual Settles with US OFAC for $3,777,000 Related to Apparent Violations of Syrian Sanctions Regulations

Attached is the press-release. The enforcement related to an apparent breach of section 542.207 of the
Syrian Sanctions Regulations which prohibited the provision of any service by US persons to Syria. The breach was identified by OFAC in connection with the US citizen who, while residing outside the US, provided managerial services to Syrian companies. Syrian sanctions have been largely terminated by the US, but enforcement continues with respect to historic breaches.
