Sanctions 360: Sanctions relevant for trade with Myanmar / Burma

In this video we look into the sanctions which are relevant for trade with Myanmar. Myanmar has been ruled by military, in essence, since its independence. Long struggle for a democratic transition resulted in national elections in November 2020, only to succumb to military coup February next year.

As a result the current focus of sanctions is to put pressure on the military. This objective, however, results in complex practical issues mainly due to the domination of national economy by SOEs which are often under military ownership or control.

In this presentation we assist companies and persons to navigate successfully through sanctions which are relevant for trading with Myanmar.
